Roger Gosden chose a career in medical science but has a lifelong interest in nature and writing. His academic career began in Cambridge under Sir Robert Edwards (‘Father of IVF’ and Nobel Prize 2010), becoming a research director and professor of reproductive science at Edinburgh, Leeds, McGill, and in Virginia, with his last post at Weill Medical College of Cornell University in NYC. Besides publishing in scientific and medical journals, he has written for newspapers and magazines, and authored or edited books. He founded Jamestowne Bookworks in 2012. Married to Lucinda Veeck Gosden, the embryologist for America’s first successful IVF program, they now live in Virginia.
Profits from royalties for all his books are donated to charity.
